SHARED SERVICES
The Public Schools Act provides for the sharing of services between school divisions, with other public schools, or with other education authorities. [PSA 60(1-5), [PSA 48(1) (p)], (M.R. 106/93)

RELATIONS WITH CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS
The Board realizes the value of educational enrichment that students receive from cultural organizations which promote the arts within the Division, and from cultural centres such as libraries, art galleries, and museums.
The Board offers its encouragement and cooperation to those organizations and institutions

RELATIONS WITH POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS
The schools will cooperate with post-secondary institutions in efforts to keep students informed of opportunities for advanced learning. They should endeavour to make secondary students aware of programs sponsored by these institutions.

STUDENT TEACHING
The Board welcomes Student Teachers into the schools of the Division.
The final acceptance and number of these Student Teachers rests with the School Principals and the Superintendent.
The policies and regulations of the Division and of the school to which they are assigned shall apply to all Student Teachers. [PSA 41(1)(j)], [PSA 91(2)] [M.R. 23/2000]

RELATIONS WITH PROVINCIAL EDUCATION AGENCIES
It is the intention of the Portage la Prairie School Division work cooperatively with Manitoba Education, Manitoba Teachers Society, Manitoba School Boards Association, Manitoba Association of School Superintendents, and Manitoba Association of School Business Officials. The Division will:

PROFESSIONAL VISITORS AND OBSERVERS
The Board recognizes the special status of certain visitors and observers, whose visits will be accommodated by school ersonnel.
The following may be called Education associated visitors: the Minister of Education, or designate, members of the Ministers Advisory Board, Manitoba Education personnel, University and Community College representatives, Regional Team personnel, MSBA and MTS staff officers, and student welfare agencies representatives.
These visitors will make their presence in the school known to the Principal at the beginning of their visit.

EMPLOYEE GROUP REPRESENTATIVES AT BOARD MEETINGS
All employees are welcome to send representatives to attend Board meetings. Parts of Board meetings are held in Committee of the Whole, and thus would exclude these representatives.
