SCHOOL YEAR
A. SCHOOL YEAR
The school year shall be determined annually by the Board of Trustees and shall be in accordance with the guidelines established by the Minister of Education.
The Board will invite input from school division employees and parent advisory councils prior to making its decision regarding the specifics of the school year.
The Board will finalize its decision regarding the school year by March 1.
B. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS
The following are holidays in all schools:
Labour Day Thanksgiving Day
Good Friday Victoria Day
Remembrance Day, when it falls on a weekday
Any other day designated by the Minister of Education; but any day so designated counts as a teaching day for the purpose of computing grants.
C. SCHOOL VACATIONS
The following shall be the vacations for schools:
1. Spring - the week beginning with the last Monday in March.
2. Midsummer - those days from the last day of the spring term to the first day of the fall term.
3. Christmas - those days from the last day of the fall term to the first day of the spring term.
