VANDALISM PREVENTION PROGRAM

The budget allocation for the Vandalism Prevention Program shall be based on the September 30 enrollments and will be allocated as follows:

Schools up to 50 students - $40.00/yr

Schools with 51 to 100 students - $75.00/yr

Schools with more than 100 students - $0.75 per student to a maximum of $400.00/yr.

Student incentive funds, based on the above criteria, will be allocated to schools by June 15.

Principals will document all damage due to vandalism during each calendar year. Damage caused internally for which responsibility is determined, will be assessed to and paid by student(s)/parent(s) deemed responsible. Damage caused internally where responsibility cannot be determined, will be assessed to and paid from the student incentive fund.

By June 30 of each year, principals will submit a report to the superintendent's department. The report will make reference to the amount of damage due to vandalism (if any), effectiveness of the vandalism prevention program and disbursement of funds allocated for that year.

PAYMENT & CLAIM PROCEDURES

A. Principal:

1. completes the requisition form for repair of the damage, noting on the form whether the cost is to be charged to the incentive fund or the name and address of any individuals who were responsible.

2. upon receipt of the invoice from the division office collects payment from the student/parent if applicable and submits to the Division Office.

B. Maintenance Supervisor:

1. upon receipt of the requisition, has item repaired and sends invoice or work order to the division office.

2. items will be repaired as soon as possible so as to facilitate the collection of costs from the principal.

3. incentive fund expenditures will be recorded by school with records to be forwarded to Division Office by May 30.

C. Division Office (Accounts):

1. upon receipt of the invoice or work order, collects the cost of repairs from the principal where applicable and issues necessary receipts.

2. deducts uncollectable accounts from schools incentive fund.

3. pays out incentive fund (less deductions) to schools in June.
